Jack Vettriano rejects offer from the NGS
Jack Vettriano rebuffed an offer from the National Galleries of Scotland (NGS), claiming he was finally asked to paint a portrait for its collections – only to turn the opportunity down because he did not like the subject , golfer Colin Montgomerie. Vettriano's long running dispute with arts establishment shows no sign of abating. He has consistently been ignored by all the major galleries

Is Robin Gunningham Banksy ?
A Sunday newspaper has claimed that artist Robin Gunningham is the real Banksy . It did extensive research over 2 years and claims that it has verified Banksy's real identity . Urban artist Bansky has turned the art world upside down with his impish sense of humour and images which veer from striking to mediocre . His work has been sold in top art auctions all over the world. Recently a couple sold a trailer which featured a painting by Banksy

Jack Vettriano pictures
Jack Vettriano has created many memorable images in his career . His strongest images are romantic , art deco style pictures of women alone or with a man ( usually Vettriano ) in the background . His best images are the Game of Life and Table for One .
Vettriano has never been loved by the art establishment , mainly because he is successful and very popular . In the minds of the establishment you need to be old or dead befire you can be a truly great artist . Maybe the only exception to this rule is Damien Hirst

Jack Vettriano painting
Wayne Rooney's wedding this week was by all accounts as chavvy as it sounds . But this was no typical Wag wedding. The Rooney twosome’s big match, for all its trumpeted extravagance, was signally lacking in star ball-players and glitzy girlfriends, and more a celebration of mates, mums, booze and pizza.
It could have been a scene from a Jack Vettriano painting — loved by the nation, abhorred by art critics — when Coleen stepped from their hired £80m yacht in her £100,000 strapless prom dress, as dark-suited minders held black umbrellas above her head. She had two more outifts to get through: a £200,000 Marchesa wedding gown and an after-hours party dress. Her hubby, “Wazza”, had only one: a brown suit with no tie — no doubt pricier than it seemed.
The couple have been together since meeting in a Croxteth chip shop in their early teens, so their decision to fork out £5m on a leave-your-wallets-at-home extravaganza for 50 friends and family was a big boot upfield. Even if half the cost was being met by an exclusive deal with OK! magazine.

Jack Vettriano not the greatest artist in Scotland
Jack Vettriano has been snubbed in the Scotsman on Sunday poll for the Greatest ever Scottish artist . The winner is a contemporary classic; the painter John Bellany. He has made himself his subject, most movingly in the sequence he painted during and after a liver transplant. That his work is so recognisable might explain his success here, and provides a rebuff for Jack Vettriano fans.
